According to Tom Cruise, the “Biggest Stunt in Cinema History” was just filmed.
How does a producer and actor follow “Top Gun: Maverick,” his biggest and most popular military film to date? If you’re Tom Cruise, you have to take more chances and go above and beyond by filming stunts that are even riskier than the previous one.
On July 14, 2023, Mission: Impossible- Dead Reckoning Part I, the seventh film in Cruise’s espionage action series, is scheduled to go on theaters. A behind-the-scenes video detailing the planning behind what they’re calling “the biggest stunt in cinema history” has been released.
The people at the Marvel film factory are aware that these days, a computer can produce pretty much anything, and their superhero films feature intense action scenes involving nothing more perilous than actors filling backgrounds and standing in front of green screens.
Tom Cruise and director Christopher McQuarrie do not think that’s good enough. Cruise will ride the motorcycle and perform the base jump if agent Ethan Hunt needs to do so while driving it off a cliff in Norway, even though they will need to develop new cameras to capture the action.
You can only say one thing about Cruise: He has incredible focus and commitment. According to the production, he performed more than 500 practice skydives and 13,000 motocross jumps to identify any issues and gather information that would make the actual filming as predictable as possible.

On the first day of filming, Cruise performed six takes of the stunt despite all the preparation work. In order to film a scene that will astound the audience, six motorcycle carcasses were likely sacrificed at the canyon’s base.
The ability of McQuarrie to weave a compelling narrative between all the breathtaking stunts is what has made the most recent “Mission: Impossible” films so excellent. After “Maverick,” no one wants to be let down, so it’s likely that they still care about the small details.
But first, one last thing. There is no way the filmmakers would have revealed this much information more than six months before the film’s release, even if this crazy motorcycle jump was the most impressive stunt in “Mission: Impossible- Dead Reckoning Part I.” We are eager to learn what other ruse they may have up their sleeve.
